186 Bank Street, Ottawa, ONTARIO, 1999
Farrow Architects Inc. was retained by the Bank of Nova Scotia as the Prime Consultant to modernize a historic bank branch at 186 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON. Following completion of a facility audit, the scope of work consisted of the remodeling of the interior with new office partitions, upgrading the heating and electrical systems, and developing new floor layouts. An elevator was added to provide handicap accessibility to the upper levels while a new exterior ramp was added to provide barrier free access to the main floor level and the ABM vestibule. All work took place while the bank remained in operation and this project was the recipient of a Certificate of Merit by the City of Ottawa at the Heritage Day Awards ceremony in February 2000.
